Ashley update
I realize I haven't had an actual Ashley update in a while. Some of this is old news, but first time I'm writing.
First, Ashley is REALLY getting around now. She is practically running everywhere. And as I suspected, she barely ever falls. Her latest thing is carrying things all around the house from different rooms.
She also started walking up to the key holder. She will point to the keys and/or flashlight. Sometimes I'll give her our bulky spare set of keys to walk around with and play. Well, one day she pointed to the keys as usual, so I gave her the set. She then goes to the door and points and says "bye bye". She was letting me know that she wanted to go somewhere. Haha.
She is also fascinated with bubbles. She would have Matt and I sit and blow bubbles for hours if she could. A lot of times she likes to sit on my lap and try to blow them herself.
She has also started this thing where she rolls her eyes to the top of her head and makes a hysterical face. It cracks me up every time. She also will make this hysterical cheese-ball grin sometimes.
She is also saying a lot of words. She will copy almost any word we ask her to say. Most of them actually sound pretty accurate too. She can even say words like blueberry, strawberry, etc. She also recognizes a lot of objects in her books or around the house now.
She also has been making cute animal noises. She likes to "growl like a lion".
She also loves to sing and dance. Her favorite song that she requests over and over is "the itsy bitsy spider". She also waves her hands up in the air to music when we're in the car.
I may have already written about this one, but she loves pointing to different body parts. She loves lifting up our shirt and pointing to our belly buttons--and sticking her finger into it. Haha. We were at a playdate with Eli and Katie Wagner, and she kept pointing at Katie's ear and trying to stick her finger in it.
Ashley also says "thank you" a lot. I think she actually grasps the concept of what it means too. Not only does she say thank you when we give her things, but when she sneezes I'll say "God bless you", and she'll respond with thank you. So cute and makes me so proud.
Well I am sure there is more but that's all I can think of for now.

Bummed
Well, I am bummed. Today was the big debut of the movie What to Expect While You're Expecting that Ashley and I were extras in. I've been anxiously awaiting it for months now, and was soooo excited to go see it. Well, apparently we didn't make the cut. The scene we filmed was still in it, but it cut out before the camera even got to us. I knew we were in the background, and expected it to only show us for a second or two--maybe even be a blur in the back, but I didn't think we'd totally be cut out :( Oh well. It was still fun to do, and I've got the pay stub as evidence. Haha.
Even though we didn't make it, we got to see the little boy who we met. There were actually twins, but they only used one for the movie. He was one of the main "stars" too so that was neat. And we saw the nasty looking fake cat that we had played with that they used for a scene. So that was neat. And even though I am mad that we weren't in it after all, it was still a cute movie.
It was also neat watching the movie being pregnant. Elizabeth Banks (the one we met) had a pretty rough pregnancy, and this time around I could def relate to her some since I've felt crummy up to this point; but then I could also relate to Jennifer Lopez's character who couldn't have kids, wanted them so badly, and would give anything to be a mother. There was a time not too long ago that I thought that might be me, so it was just a good reminder of where I once was and where I am now, and that even though 1st trimester hasn't been easy, it's still such a blessing and miracle that I shouldn't take for granted. Also seeing all the newborns born at the end took me back to Ashley's birth which got me choked up, and had me excited for our new addition to arrive later!

12 Week Ultrasound
Today I went for my 12 week ultrasound (at 12w, 5 d). It went really well. This ultrasound always makes things feel more real, and makes you fall even more in love with your little baby. It is so cool and exciting at the 6 week one, but with this one the baby has grown, actually looks like a baby, and is moving. Everything looked great, thank you God. My blood pressure was 104/70 and my weight is right on track. The baby's heart rate was 158. There is the old wives tale that if the heart rate is higher, it's a girl; if it's lower, it's a boy. Don't think there's any truth to that, but it did seem to be true with Ashley. When I went for her 12 week appointment it was 162...This one is only slightly lower, but it's kind of "on the fence" and could go either way. We will be happy and blessed whether we have a girl or a boy. Although I am guessing it's a boy this time.
Here are some pics of our sweet baby. In one picture the baby had his or her hand on her forehead. It was too cute.
Also, we are narrowing down the name list I think. For girls, I think we have narrowed it down to either Emily or Hannah. I like Emily more, and Matt likes Hannah more since he doesn't want two girls ending in "y". For boys, I think we are looking at Jacob, Landon, Cameron, and we've also added the name Jackson to the list of possibilities. It's been hard trying to agree this time. Think we may have to pull the name out of a hat. Haha.

Baby kick??
So I am wondering if I have felt the baby kick this week? 2 days ago I was grocery shopping, and when I reached to get something, I swear I felt the baby kick. It seemed a little early so I brushed it off. But then tonight I was just sitting on the couch and felt the same "kick" sensation. I decided to look it up since I couldn't remember. I read that you typically feel kicking between 16-25 weeks. If it's your first pregnancy it may be closer to 25 weeks, but with your second pregnancy you can feel movements at 13 weeks. I'm now 12 1/2 weeks, so I'm wondering if it's possible? Tomorrow I go for the next ultrasound, so I will update more then :)

Mother's Day Weekend
We had a really fun weekend. We took a trip to visit our good friends Jen, Jim, Lily and Emma Lastinger at their (new) house in Waycross GA. We didn't realize at the time when we planned the trip that it was Mother's Day that Sunday, but it worked out nice. We got there Friday evening and spent the time hanging out and catching up. Saturday Matt, Jim and one of his friends went to the Player's Golf Championship in FL for the day. Jen and I stayed home and played with the kids--went for a walk, to the park, played on the playset and water table, and played with lots of toys around the house. Jen and I also got to enjoy our talks while the girls napped. Sunday (Mother's Day), Ashley woke up bright and early. Since we were the first ones up we were able to have some private time to open my Mother's Day cards, and then I got my gift when I got home--Matt had brought Ashley to the pottery place and had a frame made with her handprints. Such a special gift that I'll treasure over the years. Anyway, after cards Jim made us homemade waffles. Later Jen and I went for an early lunch so that she and I could get some mommy time together. It was nice being able to do that. Then we made the trip back home. Boo.
Here are some pics from the trip and Mother's Day.

The belly shots have officially begun
Here are the first of many belly shots to come (lord willing). These were taken today at 11 weeks. It was taken after the end of a very busy day so I'm a little tired in the pic, but didn't want to miss it.

Daddy Daughter Time
Ever since Matt started his job, he has had a 1/2 day on Wednesdays so that he could be home with Ashley while I work. As much as I hate leaving her on the day at work, I am equally as thrilled that she gets some quality one on one time with daddy.
Well tonight he took Ashley to her first baseball game. I had to share a couple of the pictures. The first one was with the team mascot, Reedy. Matt sent the pic to me while I was at work and it instantly put a smile on my face. It was so cute the way she was hugging him. Just like with the shark, she just wanted to keep hugging him and didn't want to let go. She also kept pointing to him when she saw him throughout the game.
The other sweet pic is of Ashley and daddy during the game, enjoying a milkshake together. I teased Matt saying he's using all these things as bribes to get her to like sports. Haha.
Also while I was working I went to see my LPC supervisor, Dr. Burton. He does Reiki, and is into so energies and spirits, etc. Well, when I was pregnant with Ashley, he sensed that I was having a girl, and was very sure about it from the very beginning. This time around, he is convinced we are having a boy. He said that the baby has a strong energy about him. Now I know Dr. Burton isn't God or even an ultrasound tech, but I HIGHLY respect him and his work after working with him for a couple of years, so we'll see if he's right :)
