10-31-10, Happy Halloween and 31 Weeks

Happy Halloween! Matt and I have had lots of busy weekends with traveling and company (and more coming up), so we took advantage of the weekend with just the two of us since there won't be many more. We had a fun time--Friday we went to dinner at PF Changs, then went to see a play called The Woman In Black, which was fun for this time of year. Then today he and I went to Denver Downs, which had a ton of fun stuff to do! They had a corn maze, hayrides, pumpkin picking, games, zip lines, etc. Here are some pics from today, and also our cute Halloween belly shot :)

10-24-10, 30 Weeks

I didn't get any "official" belly shots, but we happened to be apple picking on the day that I turned 30 weeks, so figured I'd post some pictures from that.
Matt and I went with Jen, Jim and Lily to SkyTop Orchard to do some apple picking. Unfortunately, due to the warmer weather we've been having, all the apples had been picked. But we still had a fun time sampling different apples and cider donuts, and walking around searching for any stragglers they missed. We also stopped at a cute shop called the Wrinkeld Egg afterward.

It is hard to believe that I am already 30 weeks! Time just seems to be flying...I remember being only 10 weeks pregnant, thinking I still had 30 more to go, and now it's flip flopped! I am really enjoying pregnancy still. All in all I feel pretty good, and I love feeling Ashley moving around and kicking. You can see my stomach moving around from the outside, which is pretty cool!

We've also been busy working on her nursery. It's painted, furnished, and most of our shower gift items have been put away and are ready to go. We just need to get a few of the last minute items, and then we should be all set for Ashley's big arrival.

My doctor visits have been going well. My blood pressure, weight gain, belly measurements and baby's heart rate are all right on track. The only issue that came up recently was that I went for the 28 week glucose test, and my number was higher than the cut off. So, had to go back and retest. It's been hard to have to watch my sugars. I try hard to be a mindful and intuitive eater, and eat a variety of foods, so having to cut some out hasn't been fun. But I will do what I have to do for my baby girl.

Baby Shower 10/23/10

On Saturday, October 23, my good friends Christi and Jen threw me a baby shower with friends. We ate at the Brick Street Cafe, and had a tasty lunch and delicious desserts. Then we played games and opened gifts.
I want to say thank you so much to Christi and Jen for hosting the shower, and for all the work they put into it. Also thank you to all the friends who could come come and for all the wonderful gifts for baby Ashley!

Baby Showers/ 28 Weeks: 10/9/10 & 10/10/10

This weekend was a lot of fun. We made our long trek up to NY and NJ for our baby showers. It was a lot of driving around, but it was worth it.

First, we had our shower in NY at Lillian's Restaurant in Saratoga. My mom, sisters, some aunts and cousins came; along with some of my good friends from up there. We had a nice brunch, played some fun games, opened gifts and caught up on things.

That night mom, Cheryl, and Kristyn threw me a mini "30th birthday" part with dinner and presents, and leftover cake from the shower.

Later that night we drove to NJ and stayed with Matt's brother, Andrew, and sister-in-law, Lauren. The next morning we made a quick stop to visit my dad in PA, where we had breakfast, talked, and opened gifts for Ashley.

Then off to NJ again for another shower with Matt's parents, grandfather, aunts, uncles and cousins, and some of our good friends. It was a great turnout! We had a nice lunch, visited and caught up with everyone, and opened gifts. We were so grateful to Matt's aunt and uncle for opening up their house to us for the party.

The next morning we stopped in Philly and had breakfast with Matt's grandfather before heading back on the road.

Although it was lots of driving and running around, it was so nice to be able to see most of our loved ones and share our excitement with them. Thank you so much to everyone who helped plan our showers, and to our friends and family for sharing in such a special time for us!

Here are some pics from the trip...
