October 2015

Just a quick little update on life.

We have had a very fun/busy month of October so far. First, Grandma, Aunt Cheryl, and Alyssa came down at the beginning of the month to celebrate my birthday and Grandma's together. We had another little celebration with Lisa and Bruce, Andrew, Lauren and Ben while they were here. We also went to a Children's Museum and pumpkin picking.
We also took a trip to the Poconos. We went on a tour of a coal mine, to Boulder Lake (a spot Matt had taken me years ago when we were first dating so that was cool to bring our children to), the Leaf Festival in Jim Thorpe, and out to eat, "relaxing" (or whatever that looks like with kids...lol), and bike riding. It was a fun little getaway.
This past weekend we went to a Fire Safety event. We ended up spending a few hours there doing different fun activities, including putting out real fires with the fire hose! The girls learned a few things and had fun.
We've also been busy with school, swim lessons, playdates, and the usual day to day activities.

The girls continue to grow in leaps and bounds.
Ashley is really entering into the "mastering" level. She is taking a new activity and doing lots of practicing and mastering of it. For instance, she has really gotten good at riding her scooter. She started off slow, wobbly and cautious. Now she is really fast, balancing on one leg with one up in the air, and confident. She also upgraded to a bigger bike, and loves practicing it. Ashley also has been doing great with tracing letters, but even writing her own letters and is wanting to spell a ton of words and write letters to everyone all the time. She is doing fantastic with her swim lessons and can even swim on her own a little bit.
Emily is also growing so much. In a month, she will be 3. That is crazy to me. Since she has a big sister, she wants soo badly to be a big girl too, and truly does keep up with everything Ashley is doing for the most part. She is completely potty trained. We still do night time pull ups to be on the safe side since she has a new big twin bed and mattresses, but she hasn't had any accidents at night even. She's doing great with color and shape recognition. She also graduated to a big girl bike with training wheels, and also is really good. She has no fear! We all take bike rides in  our yard, up the street on the sidewalk, up and down the street at the Poconos, etc. She is so cute when she talks. She has a couple cute words such as "orshange" for orange, and she'll say "that make-a-me so sad", or whatever word she's saying. She is cute and says "I want to kiss your big nose" to me...lol...which, I giggle because she has my same nose, she just hasn't grown into it yet. Haha. She loves going to school, and is excited to go to her "big girl school" a couple days a week.

My babies are growing up so fast!
