Well, let's start with the fact that my baby is 11 months old. How is that possible??? I don't know. I feel like this past (almost) year is a blur, it whizzed past me WAY WAY too fast! Emily is doing fantastic. She isn't quite walking on her own, but she does great walking around the furniture, walking with assistance of people and her toys. She is also quite a pro at climbing up stairs and other things.
She is quite expressive these days. She does a lot of babbling, saying words or attempting to. She also lets you know when she's not happy about something too, and will try to demand her way. Haha.
Her new thing is also to reach for things that she wants, and try to point or grab at them.
She is also LOVING foods. She started eating real food about a month ago. A little late start, but with her choking issues the doctor had said to take it slow, and I kind of followed her lead with how she handled her baby snacks. I think she is thrilled to be eating "big people food" now and devours most of it up--from pastas, to veggies, to fruits, and even a little meat. Thankfully she hasn't had any choking issues so I'm hoping we're past that.
She's been on a pretty routine schedule for sometime now. Emily is quite the early bird--she is typically up between 6-6:30, sometimes even earlier (ugh), and on a rare occasion, sometimes later. This is hard for me because Ashley was always a great sleeper and would sleep until 8 (she still does 90% of the time). I am NOT a morning person, so it's a struggle for me waking up that early since I'm usually still in a deep sleep. Anyway, she'll typically get up around that time, nurse, have open playtime and one-on-one mommy time until Ashley wakes up. Then we'll have breakfast around 8:30, and she's down for a nap by 9/9:15. She sleeps for an hour to hour and a half, then we have an open window until 2 where we play, eat, go out, etc. Then she'll nap for about 2 hours at 2, then bedtime at 8. So overall not bad.
Ashley also continues to grow in leaps and bounds. It's funny, I had posted a video on Facebook not long before we moved of Ashley singing the ABCs to Emily. At that time she was a little over two and sang some and then babbled/made up her own song. Now she can sing it, recognize 1/2 the letters in the alphabet, counts good, is learning the days of the week and months in the year. She knows which days are daddys' short days and which are his long days. She gets what is going on around her, and is also quite observant.
On that note, Halloween was obviously a blast this year. Ashley totally got what was going on and loved it. Emily loved it too! We carved our pumpkins a couple nights before. Ashley had fun picking out the faces to carve on them, and was having fun reaching in and feeling the seeds and pulp, and helping daddy carve.
She loved trick or treating too. She was so anxious to go from house to house to get more candy. She did pretty good about taking only 1 or 2 pieces, although at one house she told the person that she wanted a lollipop. Haha.
She had fun ringing the doorbells or knocking on the doors. One of the first homes she tried to lean in to see the house/people, and asked to go in to play :) She also asked if she could please touch some of the halloween decorations and/or lawn decorations that people had out. It was so cute and fun to watch her.
Emily obviously didn't get it yet, but she had fun going to the doors. She was holding a bag of chips and a piece of candy in her hands and was quite happy and content. She kept holding them up to show people/try to hand to people when we'd knock on their doors. It was too cute. Grandmom and grandpop got to come along to partake in the fun this year too since it's our first local halloween.
Matt and I dressed up too--Matt went as a nascar driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr, and I went as a pumpkin to match Emily.
On our way back we stopped to look at this house in the neighborhood that was majorly decorated. It was like the Christmas Vacation movie, only for Halloween. Ashley had fun trick or treating there.
Well that's about it for now.
